Paintball, although quite newly founded, is a sports branch that has an ascent with an acceleration rising in the last 10 years in Turkey along with the whole world. A sports branch that unites team work, coordination, rapid thinking and decision making capabilities, endurance and balance, paintball provides various advantages to people from all age groups.
While providing the developing children the skill of trusting friends at a team play and moving together with them in nature, paintball is also an effective assessment tool for testing the skills of fast decision making under stress, achieving goals with limited resources and leadership qualities of a senior manager.
Described generally in the metaphor of chess with human-pieces, paintball is a sports that requires a serious amount of preliminary preparation for achieving victory with its developable tactical variations.
With its feature of neutralizing the gun using impulse that inhabits human nature, without harming the nature or human beings, paintball is also used in foreign countries within the developing educations for removing gun use impulse of individuals.
Utilized materials are produced from totally environment-friendly, self-extinguishing substances non-harmful to human health; therefore maybe paintball is the only nature sport friendly to the environment.
Safety and Rules:
With the condition the safety rules are abided, paintball is a sports branch containing less risk of injury even than golf according the statistics. In paintball sport, safety depends upon a number of fundamental obligations in general framework.
1) Mask Rule: Within the area framed by a net and defined as the game area, nobody may be present and nobody may play paintball without their protective paintball masks designed specifically for paintball.
2) Marker Safety Rule: The safeties of the markers used throughout the game are opened with the signal of the head referee and closed with another signal of the head referee. In all situations otherwise, marker safeties must be kept closed.
3) Rule of 5 Metres: This rule that is applied to amateur paintball players has been set for preventing the rival players from physically harming one another. According to the rule, players cannot fire at one another by approaching more than 5 metres.
Aside from these three rules, abiding referee directives is among the most important obligations while playing paintball.
In addition, each establishment may set various special condition rules according to the characteristic features of their own game field and establishment. In such situations, players must take pre-game training from the professional referee and learn establishment-specific applications before the game.
